  1. Hey everyone, I started a Blog for NHL '94 League News. I'm calling it "Ron's Bar" http://ronsbar.org Latest post is on a couple Blitz "A" All-Time Records that were just broken by Perennial Choker. Would love to have more people involved in writing posts. Let me know if you're interested.
  2. Thanks Man. I just used a "Weekly" Wordpress Template. I'm gonna be sprucing it up quite a bit in the near future. Gotta get back to the real world for the next couple days.
  3. LOL at the popcorn. Has anyone ever done an "NHL '94 Weekly" type of magazine / blog? Possible features: Game of the week - with video, box score, and/or write-up Play(s) of the week - short video clip(s) Standings Snapshot Player Stats Snapshot (where available) Player(s) of the week - from league play that uses stats Weekly Poll Interviews Write-Ups on League Milestones (Sign-Ups, Drafts, Playoffs, etc) Forum Fodder NHL News Video Game News Weekly, monthly, quarterly, and/or yearly awards for the awesome buds in the community that make it a truly special place and/or had significant accomplishments. Anybody else interested in this? If we could incorporate videos into a web magazine, how sweet would that be?? I'm thinking this could be fairly easy, just by compiling the best posts from the forum over the course of a week, paraphrasing some of them, and putting them together in a nice format. I've been learning Wordpress as a CMS lately, and I'd love to take this project on. Raph has been doing a great job with Survivor and Blitz write-ups. Others have written some cool stuff and provided just the right amount of irreverent belligerence. The thing we've been lacking lately are videos, but I guess those mainly come out during playoff time. NHL '94 WEEKLY. Let's take this to the next level. http://www.nhl94.com can remain as a comprehensive hub for all things NHL '94, and the central news section can be replaced with a section of images (picture/headline) that link to the weekly blog's top articles. We can even set this up with an RSS Feed for minimum maintenance time. Am I crazy, or does this make sense?
  4. I just noticed that Patrick Roy and Ed Belfour seem to be the best passing goalies in the game, and they both have exceptional Puck Control. Something else occurred to me: Is it possible that high offensive awareness means that when that player has the puck, players without the puck become smarter? I also thought that offensive awareness impacts goalies' positioning in terms of moving closer to the other end... which might be good because the farther away from their net they move, the more they can cut off shooting angles.
  5. Montclair, NJ is my hometown! If anybody wants to meet me for beer, wings, and NHL '94 I will gladly meet you at Egan's! By the way, My post about updating the website was in the "Growing the Game" thread: http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/topic/14380-growing-the-game/#entry117515
  6. Since we are talking about all this stuff, I was wondering if anyone's ever brought up the Goalie Puck Control being way too inflated in NHL '94. I love throwing a pass from my goalie to my winger streaking for a breakaway, but how often do you see that in a real hockey game? Has anyone considered making ROMs where most goalie's have 0 for PC and the best ones are only a 2 or 3?
  7. An error occurred You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day in the GA!
  8. Have you seen the "6 Aside Soccer" ROM? http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/topic/9791-and-now-for-something-completely-different6-aside-soccer/
  9. remember when nashville's arena used to be called the "gaylord center"? what a terrible name for a team called the "predators"... now that they are getting their game up, maybe they'll sell more tickets.
  10. Gilmour shatters the glass every time he gets a penalty... that's why you can check guys into the penalty box.
  11. I'm a Rangers fan... First off, I'm sad to see Anisimov and Dubinsky go. Good young players who had some fine moments in their time with the Rangers. I wish them well. Second: I look forward to seeing Rick Nasty playing for the Rangers. He's a physical player with great scoring ability and great hands. His best statistical season was '08-'09, which was 4 years ago. He's 28 years old, and hopefully a change of scenery will help him thrive and live upto expectations. Third: Greg Brady is an idiot. I had to google his name to figure out he wasn't the guy from the Brady Bunch tv show.
  12. Iafrate is as good a bet as anyone in '94... I'm not sure about '93. Also, I think you need to be shooting 'up' as opposed to 'down' (meaning that if you're the home team, the first and third periods). There may be a "hot spot" around the blue line, but I really don't know.
  13. I don't know if you're aware of this, but Survivor is HOT right now.
  14. carse is through to the finals 5-2 3-1 7-4 5-1 ggs
  15. carse... when can you play? i know i'm busy wednesday and thursday this week.
  16. I just read through 4 pages of amazing updates that smozoma has done for the blitz94.com website over the last 4 years. Well done, Smoz!!!
  17. thanks bo. i hate goalie lock, but didn't understand it that well until i read your post. now i see why it happens a lot in 2on2. nice work.
  18. k. sorry bud. just messin' around. welcome to the wonderful world of nhl 94 online!
  19. C'mon, bud. Learn how to take a joke. That video you uploaded was by far the worst NHL '94 I've ever seen (although it was so bad that I found it amusing). "Normal people" play NHL '94 on GENS with weight bug fix.
  20. That explains how Selanne has 6 shorthanded goals through 11 games in Blitz 7, while your team has only allowed a total of 6 powerplay goals against. Raph, you are a true student of the game. Cheers, bud
