  1. That's too bad and I understand hosting is tough during the week. I'm always up for playing anytime, Sunday or otherwise though, so let me know!
  2. hahaha nice. Definitely don't get me in a tough spot... she's most likely going to join this forum since she loved spending time getting to know you guys this weekend.
  3. I'm working on my recap as well, hopefully I can post something tomorrow or Friday. But as Jer pointed out, still flying high from that awesome weekend. Hey Raph, I know you said yours is going to be long but if you feel the need to edit down, you can always shed some story time on how you smoked me in the Final tourney. haha
  4. You can count me in. Make sure to ask Plabax how we should run the tournament, I'm sure he has no shortage of input. haha
  5. Well sorry man, I disagree... in fact, I saw it for myself at the tourney. How about you... what did you notice there? Ohhhh that's right, you weren't there.
  6. After playing in a live NHL94 tourney with the option to choose your own team, I'll take the Ko94 tourney format any day of the week. While I respect your opinion, I do think a true champ can persevere with any team. In a triple elimination format, it would be tough to take down the guy whose supposed to win that many times, even at the lowest level teams. However, another thing to keep in mind with pick-your-own-team tourney, it's boring to play and even more boring to watch the same couple teams to play one another for an entire tournament.
  7. Hey guys, just wanted to know if anyone had any thoughts on when a new season is going to start up?
  8. If there's no one ahead of me to sub, I'm more than happy to take over. If things turn around for Skeletor, I'll hand his team back over to him if that's works for the league.
  9. I had no idea you had such crazy adventures but awesome recap, VC... f'ing hilarious! I about just fell out of my chair on the Stephanie Tanner all grown up comment. hahaha
  10. Smoz, I know I mentioned this on another thread but such a great model. I thought it would be more than nested 'if' type statements but the logic is sound. I also like the use of Char(169), I've never used a character in any of the models I've made but I always like checking out others excel work to see if there's anything I can learn. A triple elimination format is no easy task to build out so thank you again for all your efforts to make the tourney run as smooth as it did.
  11. Completely agree with this point. Smoz, that was an amazing excel model. I can't imagine the work that took but thank you so much for putting that together. I know updating was tough in a portion of the morning session but it really went off without a hitch. Well, besides the fact you gave yourself a loss that you couldn't reverse. ... but I do appreciate you giving me the chance to top seed the B-Bracket. haha
  12. This is my 1000th post and I would like to commemorate it with huge thanks and appreciation. I arrived back to Chicago last night and although exhausted from an exciting weekend to say the least, I took some time to reflect what I had experienced over the past couple days. The King of 94 wasn’t simply a video game tournament. It was an event that was built from a passion of Mikey… a passion that all of us have shared for years, the love of NHL ‘94. Through his passion and efforts culminated into what we all were privileged enough to experience over this past weekend. Moments after the tourney wrapped up, the expressions on Mikey’s face reflected the feelings of everyone in that room who were lucky enough to be there. Happiness Excitement Surprise Exhilaration …and even sadness… because even after a long day, there were those (myself included) that didn’t want it to end. This community is unlike no other community that I have experienced in my lifetime, gaming or otherwise. People from all different walks of life with entirely different personalities that come together to celebrate an interest which the majority of people will never understand or have the ability to relate to. Although I have been gone for some time, I'm always drawn back for those reasons. It took Evan to bring us together. It took Halifax to keep us together. It took Mikey to create a venue to meet one another. And it took the efforts of so many others to fuel our desire to allow us to play, not only this weekend, but over 12+ years online. Mikey, I can’t begin to even thank you enough for providing such incredible memories in my life that I will never forget. It was an absolute honor to be able to spend time with you. Anyone would have been stressed to the tipping point with the workload you took on but you kept a smile on your face throughout the entire weekend. Your ability to organize everything as seamlessly as you did is unparalleled. Halifax, You’re dedication to NHL ’94 is simply incredible. I’ve always felt (as many do I’m sure) without you, this community would not be where it is today. You even reach out to me from time-to-time to let me know what’s going on. You’re not obligated to do it, you do it because you’re a thoughtful and generous person. I have the utmost respect for you. Evan, Meeting you this weekend was a special moment for me. You have brought so much happiness to so many people. You have built a place for a community that anyone can join from across the globe which is filled with relationships that will last a lifetime. Thank you all for your endless efforts and dedication to the greatest game of all time. I am looking forward to meeting you again in the future and hoping to have even more of us join at the next one. GG
  13. Best of health to Skeletor for sure. I just wanted to offer if there's any coaches who can't fulfill their duties for whatever reason, I would be more than happy to take over a team. I will be attending the Ko94 tourney this weekend but when I return, I would really like the opportunity to get involved with 94 again... hey, what can I say... I miss you guys.
  14. How were injuries programmed for the game? It appears like a random component but when I used to manually track stats way back when, there was somewhat of a pattern of guys who injured more and those who were more susceptible to injury. Is there a specific attribute or combination of attributes that leads a player to dish out more injuries or get injured more often?
  15. I'm bringing an extra Gens, extra carts and extra pads. We could always move a tv to someone's room to get an extra game going... or maybe we could even get some tvs set up at the bar area downstairs so we can have a little bit more room. Either way we can play it be ear for now but I'm more than happy to coordinate that with the hotel if that's the way you guys want to go.
  16. Travel safe Halifax and thanks for following up with me!
  17. Looks like I'll have to set the pace, boyz... drew 1st game of the tourney. Pressure's on!
  18. That's weird, I just sent an email to myself from work and it went through fine... Could you try resending again?.... evostal@gmail.com
  19. I arrive in Toronto about noon from Chi. I'm staying at the Doubletree so I'll be ready to play in the afternoon if there are spots still available. I'm not sure where we landed on the communications but you can always email me at evostal@gmail and we can exchange numbers
  20. Whaaaaat??? That's terrible news. Habs, you're part of the reason I signed up to travel north... that sucks man.
  21. Nothing is in my inbox or spam folder. Could someone forward to evostal@gmail when you get a moment. Thanks fellas!
  22. Hey guys, can anyone direct me to the Toronto tourney brackets. According to the tourney site, those were going to be emailed out 3 days before... just want to make sure I didn't miss out somehow!
  23. I'm in the same boat... if you're up for playing.. I'm at Ericanthony76 on AIM
