  1. There's no middle ground. Either the bad players are going to be unhappy, or the elite players are going to be unhappy. You can't have fairness when both sides are unwilling to work together, and that's exactly what I'm seeing here. Why not just kick the rookies out and you can turn this into another Gens elite league? At least then you don't have people complaining about good players being punished. Don't really care about what comes from this post. Eat me alive, I have better things to do than to worry about what people think of me
  2. awesomerino is good to go! We played 3 games, and despite me winning two out of three, he is a very good player. He will give the veterans some fits. Game 1: Detroit (SSiG) 7, Montreal (awesomerino) 3 Game 2: NY Rangers (SSiG) 4, Buffalo (awesomerino) 3 (OT) Game 3: Calgary (awesomerino) 4, New Jersey (SSiG) 0
  3. Get a sneak peak at a player who probably should just stay in the GM's box! Come one, come all...take on SSiG in a battle for all that is mediocre and average! SSiG's Hours For Rookie Testing Monday-Friday: All day Weekends: 5-8 PM EST and late night hours until 2 AM AIM: Magus978 GENS ROOKIES ONLY Confirmed awesomerino
  4. Yay, I'm in the 20. Evan, if you need another warm body for the 40, I'll take that instead of the 20. Just put me someplace where I could win 3 games I picked Detroit first, but nothing ever goes right for SSiG, so he won't get that During the season since I have nothing better to do, if anyone's interested, I'll have an NHL 94 chatroom up on AIM. You can come in, talk about your games and such...all without having to open Gens. Chatroom is nhl94. Have at it
  5. I'm SSiG. I coached in the GDL, failing miserably to the tune of 8-57. I then coached in the ill-fated 94/07 league, and failed again to the tune of 6-31 or something like that. I'm a lifetime 20-106 player, and I've set the bar VERY low for my first Classic '94 season. 3 wins.
  6. I could do an entire 82-game season if asked. Once I join a league, I see out my commitment even if things are going terribly wrong (which is just about all the time ) As for the comment about the 20 game season being the easiest league, it might not be true. I'm looking for a league that will give me a legitimate shot at making the playoffs. After that, I don't care how I do
  7. My top and bottom 5... 1. Detroit 2. Toronto 3. New York Rangers 4. St. Louis 5. Pittsburgh 5. New Jersey 4. New Jersey 3. New Jersey (sense a pattern?) 2. New Jersey 1. New Jersey My Devils are a disgrace. They can't hit for their lives, and they fold up faster than the French Army in a slap fight with an army of Britney Spears clones.
  8. I would also like my team preferences PM'ed or e-mailed. I plan on changing them, and want to see what they were before
  9. I have just about no life *waits to be ridiculed* I could help out if necessary, since I'll have plenty of time after my 3-17 season is over
  10. I'm joining whatever will be the easiest league. I gotta make the playoffs in one of these things!
  11. The Fat Mann mocks a reviewer who constantly uses 4chan references. Very funny Innovations of Failure #2 - L33T 80y!
  12. Carse ****ing destroyed me, many times None of our games were competitive. He kinda' put me back in my place at the bottom of the NHL 94 totem pole
  13. On the emulator, I like to edit the times to play 7 minutes. Penalties on (no offsides), no line changes For poll purposes, 5 minutes, penalties (no offsides), no line changes.
  14. Just the PS2 now. Sold all my other gaming things before we moved into this new place, but if I hit another jackpot in Atlantic City this thursday, maybe I'll pick up some old school stuff. A genesis and NHL 94 <3
  15. I'm not going to point the finger at anyone. I'm gonna try to be somewhat rational for once. Let's just say that things didn't quite work out. I'm disappointed that it's over, but hey...it ended with me having 7 more wins than I started, plus I think I actually improved a bit
  16. Ignore'em. I for one welcome the fact that females are playing the game. Hit me up for a game sometime HockeyGirl, beating SSiG will be a huge notch on your belt (and by huge notch, I mean non-existant, since everyone and their grandmother beats SSiG )
  17. How do you make the computer decent? Have me play against it. I win the topic *takes topic home*
  18. I read it, but I don't take anything into it, since the game for me is pretty much over after the first period
  19. Nice job, Egg and Jeff. Nice blowouts I'm always up for exhibition games, except when I'm not. All you gotta do is IM me on AIM. I prefer using Clockwise's NHL 91 ROM, but I'll play in whatever. Gotta get back in league shape.
  20. YAY! Downloading now. You worked very hard on this ROM. Myself, as well as the community, appreciate your hard work. I call Hartford in your upcoming league EDIT: After beating Dynamo Moscow 3-2 with Hartford, I have to say that I love what you've done. The Russian teams are well done. Will they be made available for play in your league?
  21. Some of us (like me) need every trick in the book just to keep up It is a cheap play, but it can be defended against. Shore up your defense and just shrug it off as a lapse in defense
  22. So much for February 2007, huh guys? I've been SWAMPED with things here, and have not been able to do any work. I do intend on getting this out by the fall though. I'm gonna take my time with the work and make sure to get things as good as I can ratings-wise. NEW ETA: Fall 2007 (Maybe September, but probably October)
  23. Welp, this is done before it even got off the ground. I was not given approval by clockwise. Someone can delete this pipe dream of mine now. Thanks.
  24. I have to check again. If they are, would you want them? EDIT: Nevermind, I saw you took Calgary For the record, they aren't. Damn, I was hoping for an even schedule
  25. Wondering if there's any interest in this. I talked to Evan about it, and if I can get the interest, I'd be more than willing to toss this up for some fun. If you're interested, I'll let you call a team in here...except Hartford, they're mine since they suck. Rules '91 ROM 5 Minute Periods No Offsides (Penalties On) No Line Changes *Game is called if one team is leading by 8 goals or more after 2 periods 42 Game Season (Each team plays the other teams twice) Top 8 in each conference makes playoffs. * = EXAMPLE - Let's say IAmFleurysHipCheck is beating SSiG 9-1 after 2 periods. The game is called, and can be reported to the server. Of course, both players can agree to waive the mercy rule beforehand and play all 3 periods anyway. This rule is made to protect rookies and those who are far less skilled. If you call a team, I'll edit this post with your name next to the team. Boston Buffalo Calgary - Jamonica Chicago Detroit Edmonton - DaDonch44 Hartford - SSiG Los Angeles Minnesota Montreal New Jersey New York Islanders New York Rangers Philadelphia Pittsburgh Quebec St. Louis Toronto Vancouver Washington Winnipeg Rules are negotiable, but you're gonna have to really sway me to get any changes
