It should be in place for the next season. Also, round links so that we can click and get to see them quicker instead of just browsing down the page all the time. I'm sorry I haven't been the speediest to get my drafts in but that doesn't mean I'm any less committed to this league. It just means that I don't have constant access to my computer and the internet 24hrs a day. If you look back at the draft history you'll notice that I've made every pick within my allowed time except for round 2 when I was confused about the rules and as a result went beyond my 12 hours. Since then I have made my picks within time. I made my picks within six hours then three hours, and was prepared if I had to to make picks within 1 hour. I think that subsequent rounds should have proceeded on an hourly basis but different rules were decided. I don't think the draft system has been perfect and suggestions should be made for the next go around but I have great respect for dan for taking this on. The system may not be perfect but nevertheless my picks have stayed well within the deadlines that have been set for round 5 and beyond. I won't pretend that I'm the speediest at getting to my picks but I'm doing my best. Many of those 12 hour periods when I didn't pick spanned over the nighttime so let's try to keep some perspective. I fully respect all of you who get your picks in superfast but let's try to keep calm. Not everyone can keep the same schedule. We live in diferent parts of the world. We hold different lives. Bo Knows NHL94 Posted December 11, 2011 Report Share Posted December 11, 2011 Twist, you do realize that if everybody took 24 hours to pick then it would take 168 days to draft... heck even if everybody took 12 hours to pick the draft would still take 84 days which means since it started December 1 we would have been done on Feb. 13th 2012. Yeah Hokkee is a little insane (lol) but he's got a point -- we can't take 12 hours for each pick especially in the later rounds. Once you have your starters and a backup forward and a backup D man, which we all should after round 8, the draft should go very quickly so we can start sooner IMO. I agree of course that everyone should be making their picks as fast as possible and I just want everyone to know that that is what I am doing and I haven't been taking this long for each one of my picks. Unfortunately it was just especially hard this weekend with the way my work schedule ended up. I know I could have made arrangements with someone else on the site. I'm sorry I didn't, but I didn't have time to think of it or make it happen. Anyway, just know that I'm trying my best. I'm still checking the site first thing in the morning or first thing when I get home and I think I was rather speedy with my picks during the week. But so that everyone knows/can prepare themselves, I won't be able to make my pick until after 3:00pm EST. Was hoping to make it now but things haven't progressed yet. EDIT maybe not danliz because he picks between you, but to somebody else Halifax already said he would take peoples lists and draft for them. So if someone knows they wont be around then send him a list. Everyone should have a small list anyway, that way when it is your pick you have a player ready. Now we are waiting for the90jacket. Been 20 hours. Take away the 9 hours we are allowed at night it still means he had 11 hours to choose. 11 hours for for final pick in 8th round? matticefire Posted December 11, 2011 Report Share Posted December 11, 2011 for this 1st draft of the league the rules are : I have change that after some proposition, we have 24 hours for the first round, 12 hours for the 2nd round, 6 hours for the 3th round, 3 hours for the 4th round and 1 hours for the other round. Ill pick the best ovrerall player for you if you can't respect the time. If the limit time to pick is on the night, we will add the time after midnight (or the last pick time) to the "pick time" at 9h00 AM. Shouldn't this have happened by now? People should be keeping a list, though.. when it gets this late, you can usually pick 3 players and not all of them will be picked 10 picks later, due to people having different tastes. Especially if you're around the first/last 3 in a round, make a pick and give someone a pick list for your next pick that is <=5 picks away.. Almost everybody can log into the net with their phones... and if you can't then send a list to somebody for these later rounds. If not then you get skipped and you can pick at your leisure.. you just have to deal with the loss of players for people who did what they were supposed to. We aren't asking much. And for what it's worth, If you can't have the net on your phone then have AIM forward to your cell. I have my AIM forward to my cell phone so when I'm up people can message me and say "Hey you're up" and only once did I not pick just about right away (had a little problem occur that evening round 1 but I still picked in the morning) </rant> Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
