  1. Embarassing. Anyway, Timmy's chocolate glazed doughnuts are rivaled by none. I like their peach drink, but I'm weird. Speaking of Sidney Crosby, remember that Tim Horton's Timbits Hockey commercial where it showed old and young Sidney and he told the zamboni driver "just a couple more minutes???" I f**king hated that commercial.
  2. I was planning a rebuttal but then I actually looked at the link. The best I can come up with is "oh, ESPN covers hockey now?" 3. Yeah it happened to me last week. I was going to check the main page and submit it if it wasn't there, but I got lazy.
  4. Punch Imlach was the General Manager of the Sabres. And he was the one who drafted Taro Tsujimoto in 1974, the fake Japanese guy you are referring to. What's even more hilarious is that "Taro" was drafted 183rd overall, making a fake player a higher draft pick than Pavol Demitra, Nik Khabibulin, Dominik Hasek, Henrik Zetterberg etc.
  5. That was actually Punch Imlach with the Sabres. But I agree with you. The Tokyo Katanas haven't had a player drafted from them in 25 years and are long overdue.
  6. I'm not trying to be a dick, or beat a dead horse, but it usually helps to be alive during the players' primes in order to compare them and judge which teammates they did/didn't help.
  7. TOR 4 @ DET 3 TOR 3 @ DET 4 (OT) DET 2 @ TOR 3 (OT) DET 4 @ TOR 3 TOR 4 @ DET 7 DET 2 @ TOR 4 TOR 2 @ DET 4 Detroit wins the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl in 7 games. Statto, thanks a lot for making my rookie season a great experience. I don't know how previous seasons ran, but you made this one pretty seamless. Cheers!
  8. http://maps.google.ca/maps?hl=en&safe=...ge&resnum=1 This location would solve Jesus' concubine question. Winner gets to flip police cars on St. Catherines
  9. Really hard to argue with these. Lucky and Oates will have their day. Hull is going in the builders' category for his work with the Stars, right?
  10. I'm going to visit someone at Concordia in either July or August. I'll stay tuned.
  11. Hey, I don't know what the status is on your computer situation, but I'm just letting you know that I will be in London this weekend with no access to internet / computer / T.V. / anything that isn't liquid, golden, and fizzy. I should be back by Sunday night. Monday night I am also busy, but after that I should be home free and just let me know when you're good to play.
  12. Luckily the fighting robots revolutionized the sport instead.
  13. Take as much time as you need, I won't be going anywhere. Thanks for the updates.

    Hey guys

It definitely worked. That's how I found this place.
  15. Close enough. No more pulling fast ones on rookies next time.
  16. Thanks coach. I'm looking to get a lot of fighting majors in so I can stick for next year.
  17. I went to the morning skate and they told me I had to watch from the press box. Put me in coach; I'm ready.
  18. AIM NAME: louie4teen OPTION 1: yes - B? OPTION 2: yes COMMENTS: I would go to A if needed. I'd get my ass kicked every game, but I welcome the practice.
  19. Look at the Philly picture. As if having to wear Cooperalls wasn't embarassing enough, Darryl completes the hockey 'tard look with inter-generation skates and a godawful JOFA bucket. No wonder the Leafs traded him.
  20. I think having the leagues run right from nhl94online.com might help a little bit. I came to this site last year and saw the online league page, but I saw that it hadn't been touched since 2007. I immediately assumed that it was dead and I never thought to look at the forums, so I never joined. The only reason I joined up a couple months ago, I believe, was because the post "Classic League - Spring 2009 Sign-Ups" was at the top of the "Latest Forum Posts" section on nhl94.com's homepage (after I randomly came via wikipedia.) I know that would take a lot of effort, but I'm just giving you my experience. Even some sort of homepage News updates that mention new leagues and whatnot would help someone coming to the site for the first time. As for the discouraging factor, I think the O'Connor cup is a great idea. My first games were against other rookies, so I wasn't scared away. I think my fourth opponent was Sebe who eliminated any confidence I had developed from the previous three. But by then I had learned he had just won the A league, and I could hold my own against rookies. So my suggestion here would be to not run up the score against rookies in test games and maybe give them some basic pointers, especially if it's obvious they've been playing the CPU all their life. And out of curiosity, did the best players around actually pay their dues in the L column?
