  1. um, i think FPB is right, A is much harder than B. i'm 0.063
  2. Yeah, "A" is pretty sad. I'm going to come up with a penalty scheme for being behind.. no penalties for this first deadline, though. People should have 10 games done tonight, though...
  3. whoops, i screwed up the joke http://xkcd.com/285/
  4. no the database doesn't properly support it, and i have no intentions of programming it in, since it would be hard/time-consuming.
  5. the secret sauce to port forwarding is also setting your computer to have a static ip address: http://portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm
  6. The second set of games is released on the 15th. Then there are about 6 weeks to finish the season.
  7. Oh, I thought this would fix itself when everyone played a game.. guess i was wrong. I'll get to it, but I'm not sure when.
  8. yay, and this has the (simplified) weight bug fix!
  9. speed is a factor in a check, so since those light guys are quick they can take out bigger guys once in a while. it's just not a simple less than / greater than calculation... you could always use a heavy guy before to knock over a light guy, it just didn't work very often. and those guys also did a lot of injuries, too (see GDL all-time stats thingie on the main GDL page...)
  10. gdl.nhl94.com simply redirects to the actual GDL site (which is just some IP address somewhere) i think dmitry is running the site off his own computer, free.
  11. use HxD, a hex editor: http://mh-nexus.de/en/hxd/ load ROM in HxD use ctrl+g to go-to location 00008870 change value 0003389A to 0008914A repeat at location 0001233A
  12. if you have an old original xbox, you can mod that and put emulators (and a whole lot more) on it. it's really sweet. http://xbmc.org/ xbox media centre it's so good that they ported it to work on windows, linux, and mac, as well as on the xbox!
  13. as far as i know, no. try googling for how to hack audio in SNES ROMs perhaps.. i didn't see anything in my quick try
  14. The league doesn't have strict "deadlines" until late in the season, but I am going to track people every week to make sure they are on a good pace with a "checkpoint" system. Checkpoints will be.. checked.. in the middle of each week (tuesday in the list below). Here is the minimum pace I want people to try to stick to: 10 games - March 17 (full schedule released on 15th) 16 games - March 24 22 games - March 31 28 games - April 7 34 games - April 14 40 games - April 21 44 games - April 28 If you miss 3 checkpoints in a row, I may give you the boot. If you're going on vacation for a while, try to play some extra games before you go.
  15. I've never played the SegaCD version, but I think I have to try it If you could make it available, that'd be great, thanks : )
  16. ok, i will try to add a GDL section to Blitz.. gimme 2 weeks, though (i'm gone this weekend and part of next week)
  17. it's the percentage of available points that you pick up. 20 points in 20 games is .500 because you could have had 40 points.
  18. Think of it like the NHL where they have the divisions and the conference standings. Usually they display the divisions, but when it comes to the playoffs, it's the conference standings that matter. I like to see the Pts% to see who is doing the best. But for the playoffs, it is points that matter for who gets in. I think seeding last season was based on Pts%.. i can't remember.. but getting in to the playoffs is definitely Pts.
  19. laggy games should be restarted or postponed within the first 2-3 minutes. p2p should always be used (server play is so 2007!). also, it's a long season, there is no need to play everything all at once. if you're ahead of hokkee in GP, then you are probably playing too much There are 44 games and the season will be about 8 weeks long, so that's about 6 games per week.
  20. Aw, no nhl94online.com support If the league standings are tracked on nhl94online.com, i would like to be in... Genesis B or C league Toronto Montreal Detroit Quebec Edmonton Pittsburgh Vancouver ...
  21. The Washington Capitals, coached by vocal veteran hokkeefan2 started the season strong with 2 convincing 5-2 and 4-1 wins over Houlanov's Buffalo Sabres. http://www.blitz94.com/boxscore.asp?gameid=833 http://www.blitz94.com/boxscore.asp?gameid=994 Washington capitalized (pun not intended) on 4 consecutive man-advantages in the first game to become the first team to ever score 4 powerplay goals in one game in Blitz league action. Last season, 3 PPG were scored 13 separate times (4 of them by snoboarder3211) Brendan Shanahan had 4 goals and 3 assists in the two games, and Patrick Roy had a solid .870 save percentage and 1.50 GAA.
  22. The first two games of BLitz season were victories for Houlanov's Buffalo Sabres. Rookie coach donnybrook94 put up a good fight, but lost 4-2 and 3-1. http://www.blitz94.com/boxscore.asp?gameid=821 http://www.blitz94.com/boxscore.asp?gameid=897 Geoff Courtnall led the way for Buffalo with 3 goals. Buffalo won 21 of 27 faceoffs.
  23. No, they are made with a hex editor Well, the way to do it would be similar, but someone would have to learn how to trace SNES code (like in TonyH's hacking tutorial, but for SNES) and learn how it works in order to find all these code locations. Increasing the number of teams is more difficult because you have to insert the graphics, etc, for the new teams somehow.
