  1. He's not 100%, but he signed up to be notified when 32 players are in and he has to confirm then.
  2. Former New York Ranger Colton Orr is now confirmed, registered to play!
  3. Bumped the original post with updated information. Also, useful tool to convert Excel into HTML for forum post: https://codebeautify.org/excel-to-html
  4. A little less than a week into our announcement and we have 21 registered/verbal commitments so far. 11 spots remaining assuming nobody bails (I am sure someone will). We still have over two months to promote, so I am hopeful that we will find 11 more buds to play by April. I suggest if you or your friends are thinking about coming to NYC to play but unsure if you can, register now. If we get to 32, you'll be notified to pay or release your spot to the next registered player.

  6. First, there is a useful thread from the almighty hacking GOD named @wboy that provides the tile layout for the rink and lots of other useful info. https://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/topic/9706-reference-nhl94-rink-tile-layout/ If you pull up the VDP from GENS, it will show the 4 palettes that the game is using at any time: The palettes are in order from 1-4. This particular game was using Anaheim Logo and palette, shown below. (Anaheim logo from TM, matches #3 in VDP) One very good piece of information from the rink tile layout thread is the note that the first digit in the tile layout dictates which palette is being used for that tile. For the center ice logo, we know that that is palette #3, which means each tile is preceded with a number 4 (read original thread for reference). To change the palette reference to the 2nd palette (shared rink layout), we have to change the hex values from 4 to 2. The logo is 6x4 tiles, so there are 24 items to change, which I highlighted below: Change 41AE, 41AF...to 21AE, 21AF, etc. Again, I found the location from the rink layout referenced in the other thread. Once you do that, the center ice logo will now be using palette #2: To get all the teams to use the same logo, there are two methods. First is to go and change all 30 logos to the same one. The easier method is to change the pointer for all the logos to the first logo in hex. The pointer table is located at 173A. Anaheim was the logo I changed, and the header was located at 1D6EF8 (that's usually 10 values before any TM reference). So I changed all 30 teams pointers to the 1D6EF8 location: Now, whatever logo you have in the Anaheim slot will be used for all 30 teams. Happy hacking!
  7. These are great, thanks for sharing. I am a fan of alternative banners, I've used different designs on most of the recent league ROMs I have created. Most recent I could find is the "wave" design here: https://forum.nhl94.com/index.php?/topic/18636-et-tu-bruce-deuce-official-rom/
  8. The first digit of the tile layout is the pallete reference (1 of 4 loaded at any time during the game). Pretty sure changing that on the center ice rink image tile layout would do the trick. 0 is palette 1, 2 is palette 2, 4 is pallete 3 and 6 is pallete 4 I believe. It's late....if this doesn't make sense I can explain in more detail and reference another time.
  9. I have mentally grappled with this for a while. I definitely think certain attributes like shot power , agility, and stick handling matter more and I'd argue that the jump from 4-5 is huge. Not just mathematical numerical ratings, but the effect it has on the game. It's why 5 and 6 ratings are rare. I'd suggest doing a draft league instead of custom players. It's wildly addictive and you don't have to create a formula for all the attribute values.
  10. Agreed! We will cap registration at 31 until I hear from Coach either way!

  12. I have also found it to be superfluous. The guys who don't respond on Discord or reach out proactively, also never bother to check the site.
  13. I'd like to schedule some games to knock out my SNES season, it ends on Jan 21st! @schwartz (CHI) DONE, GGS @combustiblecam (MTL) x 2 BEAR (CHI) - DONE GGS @jer_33 (PIT) DONE GGS @c4outlaws (QUE) x 4 I can be available most nights after 8pm EST. If it has to be earlier, let's schedule something, maybe a weekend or MLK day. Respond here, Discord, PM, etc.
  14. Awesome bud @MikeGartner22 is taking over LA! Hint:. Kelly Hrudey isn't good. Your manual goalie will be tested. Good luck!
  15. @Brutus will step in for Angryjay93, who is tied up moving and won't have time to play classic. A high caliber player who just came off winning his own league (what a guy), given a high powered team like Buffalo. LOOK OUT!
  16. Okay, sorry to see you go, but thanks for the info. Good luck, hope to catch you soon.
  17. GENS A Buds, This is a pretty disappointing start to the season. We are about a month in and the following buds have zero games played: * AngryJay93 * Zeppelin55 * dcicon5148 FPB just took over and I have seen the others be pretty active. Please make an effort to get your games in. I have a few buds on standby, and if I don't see activity, I have to replace you. Holidays can be tough on free time, but let's at least be active! GENS B - Good job all.
  18. If a player gets a penalty and then the same player gets another penalty before the whistle blows, only the last penalty gets applied. Usually if I have a delayed penalty that I know is for a particular player, I don't switch off and start ramming/tripping people even more than usual, lol.
  19. I believe this is the winning argument, well said. Pretty much online leagues would die without,@chaos, or someone would have to learn website databases. Also, I could never run LI Retro Tourney without him. He's always helping the community online/live with his spare time. And definitely major thanks to @angryjay93, who continues to be a great ambassador for the game at an elite level. AJ's building lines was my first introduction to the depth of '94 analysis after smozoma directed me there. The pages have been updated with C/B analysis, and now vids! That is hard work, not easy to put that much effort into something, and it's GREATLY appreciated. I am also biased for Arda as he has personally provided me the opportunity to play against Ken Daneyko on the Prudential Center jumbotron, which I'll never forget and will always be appreciative of. He also got the Vegas Golden Knights Twitter to use our '94 celebration GIF, promoted '94 on his shows, broadcasts, and basically has been our biggest celebrity ambassador. All of this because he's a true retro gaming fan, and a genuinely awesome dude.
  20. Ha, 3 is rare but that is also the most I have ever gotten on one shift.
  21. My preferred method is to use d-men to prevent any crease cuts. However, if you miss you are pretty f'ed as you won't have enough time to switch to manual. The only other way is to play manual earlier.
  22. I'm not sure if those years were ever created, unless @swos did them back before I was around the community?
  23. I suggest making the registration clearer in your OP. REGISTRATION: Forum sign-up, link to paypal.me site, send $40 check to, etc.
