  1. Is there a way to hack out the "press the hook button and instantly get up from a check" BS in SNES '94? I'd actually pay someone to do that.
  2. Cool thread, here's my contribution: I got to meet a few old legends when my dad played in a firefighters vs. ex nhl'ers thing up in Alaska years and years ago. I met Bobby Hull, Guy Lafleur, and Marcel Dionne, among others. Hull was by far the coolest to meet for me since I've always been a diehard Hawks fan, he was incredibly nice and signed so much s**t for me and my dad, jerseys, hats, sticks pucks, you name it. I've met Scott Gomez on a couple occasions, he's a very nice guy. He brought the cup up to Anchorage after he won it his rookie year which was awesome to see as a kid. He has all kinds of great stories about NHL guys that hes hung out with over the years, my favorite being the one he told about Brett Hull. Apparently Gomez was in a bar with both Brett and Bobby Hull, and they're sitting there drinking some beers. A woman and a teenage boy approach Brett, and the woman says "Hey Brett, I'm so and so and you may not remember when we got together years ago, but this is your son". Brett barely reacts and says to the kid "Well, I guess this is your grandpa then" as he points to Bobby and continues to sip his beer. I used to play youth hockey against Brandon Dubinsky when I was 14-15 years old, he was quite the little dangler. From what I hear he is a pretty large douchebag in adulthood. My sisters husband told me a story this summer about Dubinksy hitting on my sister at some party in Alaska a year or two ago, he actually came up to her and said "Hey, do you know me? she says "No." and he responds with "Trust me, you want to know me". So along with Matt Cooke, Dubinsky is on my short list of NHL'ers that I'd like to knock out if given the opportunity.
  3. GGS man, only took us an hour to get up and running! Add all the SNES guys and start playing as many exi's as you can, you have lots of potential.
  4. How about you get your hamachi/aim up and running first? I guarantee online play will be a wake up call for you, I know it humbled me real quick.
  5. “We did research throughout the year on where we wanted to go with this [Anniversary] mode, and people didn’t actually want to play NHL ’94. They wanted a different take on it that brought back great elements from NHL ’94, but wasn’t actually NHL ’94.” What a load of s**t. No, EA, nobody wants to play a half-cocked version of NHL '94 that doesn't play or look anything like the original.
  6. Is there a Western conference bracket missing from SNES B-1? Thought I made the playoffs but I don't see my matchup on there. Thanks for all the work you guys put into making this happen!
  7. Jason Taylor, I need to play you. Let me know when we can schedule a time.
  8. I started playing hockey when I was 6, in a little town called Northway, Alaska. My team was called the "Northway Natives", which was a motley crew of Athabascan native kids and my white self. We always played in sub-zero temperatures, and our games would only be called off if the temp dipped below -30F. Sometimes we'd even play into the -40's, since my dad was scorekeeper/temperature watcher and would warm up the thermometer under his coat once it got sub -30 so we could keep playing. I'll never forget the unholy burning sensation in my feet when taking off my skates in a warm shack after playing in that cold. It was hell at the time, but it sure made me tough. Those were the days... I started playing NHL94 the year it came out, while I still lived in Northway. This game holds a ton of nostalgia for me, and when I found this site and had to make up a screenname, I thought it was only fitting that I pay tribute to the first team I ever played on.
  9. I'm in! I think a 20 game season would be good, everybody plays each other 2x. Blackdevil and I play with these rules all the time, the games are always a blast. I love playing with offsides/line changes, it adds a whole new element of strategy to the games, even though the computer AI is pretty bad with staying onside. I find that the dump n' chase strategy is a good one for getting into the zone without having your cpu teammates f you over constantly. Hey marchawg, if we got this league going could we use seahag to upload the games? Maybe make a "league" section of the site?
  10. I can probably play you sunday night some time, give me a holler if you see me online.
  11. Do the teams from B1 and B2 get to play each other at all? Also, does the winner of B get to challenge the winner of A to a cross-league showdown?
  12. I just skimmed, is this gens only? If it's snes as well I'm in.
  13. Is snes SDL ever going to finish? I signed up for classic, take it easy on me boys.
  14. I'd definitely enter this if it didn't mean setting foot in the massive hole of s**t that is NJ.
  15. I confirmed the games Oilers, didn't realize I had to do that. Awesome site Marchawg!
  16. Very cool idea, I signed up. Oilers and I played a bunch of games with the intent to post em to the site, thanks for making this happen!
  17. Does anybody play sensi soccer online these days? Would love to get in on that. It would be awesome to play a whole game with that view Raph, cool stuff.
