NHLPA 93 music in NHL 94 (UPDATE: Version 1.10 with drums intro)

Prince of WALES · January 17Jan 17

It is now possible to insert the NHLPA 93 Intro, Matchup and Menu music into NHL 94 and have the sounds loop. @swos discovered how to insert the music 16 years ago, but multiple attempts at looping the music in the past have resulted in the game crashing. However, after spending some time searching for patterns in hex editor (and lots of testing), the proper byte values and their locations were finally discovered. Special thanks to @swos @Drezz for helping me crack this. Also to @kingraph @chaos

Port of NHL95 Season mode to NHL94

bcrt2000 · October 14Oct 14

This is a port of the NHL 95 Season mode to NHL 94. This is based on the disassemblies of NHL 94 Genesis & NHL 95 Genesis that were recently done (credits to McMarkis, chaos & StaticEck for helping with the process as well as AI agents). I check out Create a player and Trades before I get into Season Mode. Clearly has some glitches and needs bug fixing. But its playable up until you get to the playoffs. I am juggling a lot of other tasks regarding cleaning up the disassemblies so I'm not

NHL 99 mod

JaderGamed · October 11Oct 11

I’ve been working on an n64 NHL 99 mod. It’s a pretty massive overhaul of the game in my opinion, and I’m getting ready to share it with the world. It’s a blend of nostalgia mixed with modern features. I’m just in testing right now. Couple of small glitches here and there. I’m actually happy to release it as is provided there aren’t any game breaking bugs during testing. I should be able to do so in the next few days. Here’s the main features I’ve added: * HNIC presentation: redesigned broadc

Mutant League Hockey - Mightyweenie | Mutant League Hockey ported to Godot, in 3D

I was never much of a Hockey/Sports guy, but I did play the heck out of Mutant League Hockey with my brother when we were kids. Over the years I poked at the ROM and investigated remaking it; I did throw something together in Multimedia Fusion in my teens but it was a bit of a joke, just players skating around a Mode 7-like rink. More recently I heard that AI was good at decompiling old games. I was skeptical about the technology (and still hold reservations about it's implications and the motiv

The new-ish native porting craze, and modding possibilities for the future?

EddieSpaghetti · October 13Oct 13

I'm not a programmer. I can barely get plug and play website templates to work. And while I generally despise AI, I've seen some people in the modding community doing some crazy stuff with it, in regard to retro gaming. Instead of emulators, it's not as big of a headache anymore to reverse engineer software and get it to run natively on the OS of your choice. And I've also heard about people making copycat software by doing the same thing. There's some kind of program all over GitHub I've heard
