  2. Also, thank you @jesusplaysnhl94for resurrecting this thread 5 and a half years later!
  3. The intent was to make everyone a "4", or 85, like gens 2v2. I didn't think this would be considered boosted? Basically a bunch of Brian Bellows or Steve Larmers with lighter weight. I don't think anyone has hacked SNES to turn off the hot/cold?
  4. Literally made this ROM in this thread, lol. Please check original post and let's see if it works in RA
  5. That's amazing! I didn't know SNES was infamous for framerate slowdown, but that sure does explain the choppy feel of the 5v5 game.
  6. Just wanted to let you know that your ROMs were always my favorite because of that meticulous detail.
  7. I don't know if there is a consensus, but my understanding is Genesis Plus GX is the closest representation. I can definitely say it's better than GENS emulator.
  8. Lol, next time choose to be away vs CPU and smash C. You'll get a penalty in the first period.
  9. This is great! I see you're changing the palette here from the 3rd to 4th. Can you explain or show how you were able to find that? I know for images the tile layout is after the graphics. Is it similar for sprites? I was wondering because I believe the same sprites are used for the home team penalty.
  10. Using the Shell57 Gens Mod, there is a VDP Sprites tool that gives me a lot of information. First, I was off a few place on my initial sprite location. Second, it does show that the sprites are using two difference palettes (3 and 2) AND it gives me the tile numbers! Continuing on...
  11. Nice catch! Here is your sprite location, 4 tiles: A4CE6 A4D06 A4D26 A4E46 EDIT - I was off 4 bytes A4CE2 A4D02 A4D22 A4E42 You're 100% right. The first three tiles are correctly using the away team palette, but that 4th tile located at A4E46 is using the home team palette. So I guess the fix is to update the palette reference for that one tile. I've never done that before...but I'll poke around.
  12. What are you looking for exactly? The player or the bench, or box? Is it that weird coloring on the leg? EDIT: Duh, you're looking for the sprite, it's in the title. Need to pay better attention Raph.
  13. @Jkline3 has created many (maybe the most?) original logos and I am a fan of how great they always look, so he'd be the best person to give advice in this area. As mentioned, the more modern logos sometimes just have too much detail to scale down. You may have to get creative. For example, for the Giants, maybe crop out the person and do a custom logo with just the Giants and the triangle. Dithering images down to pixel bits that are 32x48 or 48x48 comes down to more art than science. You can get away with auto downscale, but the best logos come from a little more manual work.
  14. NYR resubmitting if I make it in time - swap Klima/Gartner: LW - KlimaC - GartnerRW - BondraLD - KasatonovRD - StevensG - YoungF Sub - BrownWaterboy - Collin PattersonD sub - Cavallini2nd D - Krupp

  16. THIS is the biggest problem with the game. Just feels like everything is out of control. I like this idea. Despite the weird gameplay, there's nothing like an exploding puck. I'd play too -- maybe even organize after leagues die down post-sochel.

  18. Wow, that looks really slick! I love the label so much...so PERFECT. I use en Everdrive cart to play custom ROMs on the console, but I have thought about getting the equipment to make carts many, many times. I ultimately always decide not to because there's 1203128 "NHL'94" related things I want to do, so don't need another. But your post is making me feel like going down that rabbit hole again. On that note, would you mind sharing your process -- equipment needed, etc? Perhaps on a different thread, or PM if you don't want to broadly reveal your secrets!
  19. Came out awesome @clockwise! Thanks for the video too, I never even thought to look this up. I will make my own attempt as well as soon as I figure out how to lose some weight in my fingertips
  20. They still run the World Retro Expo in Hartfod, but for the last few years we have declined to run a '94 tournament. It's usually 2 weeks after the Long Island Retro Expo, at the beginning of September which is a busy time of year with schools starting, etc. Hartford is a bit of a hike, and KO94 has also been scheduled in late September/early October. All that adds up to a lot of wife equity that I (and likely @chaos ) don't have to cash in for another full day NHL'94 related event that we run for free/lose money. Great venue though!
  21. Hey bud, the NYC tournament is Genesis, but this year we were going to bring an SNES console for @jmomonyc. The tournament is the format, and only one person wins, but these live events are meant to be fun for everyone. It's great to meet, chat and play '94 with people who share the same love for the game! Definitely would encourage making the trip if you can one day!
