clockwise
Fanhouse: Adam Gretz Apt for cap? Sather's lumbar must be feeling better after getting that baby grand piano off his back.. Not sure what this translates into for Koivu, has his ship already sailed? Rumblings about from so called "gurus" claim that he could land in Minnesota with his brother. EDIT: Higgins has scored more than 20 goals in all but 1 season (08-09): 23, 22, 27. Gomez hasn't scored more than 16 goals in the last 3 seasons: 13, 16, 16. With a 7.34 cap hit Not sure how Michael Busto fits into all of this.
halifax
yeah..that deal doesnt seem to make sense for montreal....but I guess we'll see. also it looks like Heatley is going to the oilers for Cogliano, Smid and Penner.
The Russian Rocket
Fact: There was a new thing on RDS, (French TSN) called ''Be the DG'' and only 3% of the participants signed Koivu, that's a pretty big middle finger to him. Gomez, can do 80 points, if he can get some feeding. Higgins, only recorded 20 goals season, because he played 1st line and 1st PP Mcdonagh Failed epically at WJC Valentenko will probably play in the KHL Janik... well he just blows I think it's all part of the plan to get some UFA's in We still have 25M$ left... lol

The Russian Rocket
I think he's talking about the salary cap. Yes... that's what i'm talking about So we would still have $ left for the sedins and Hossa, if it worked out of course... Only Theorical and probably won't happen, but the Sedins would be a nice thing

shaftman
Gainey didnt land the big names like he was supposed to before the 1st. Any one who doesnt want to sign Koivu is a complete idiot. The man has sweat blood for the Montreal Canadiens he IS the heart of the team. And if you want to talk numbers look them up. He gets the points. so why wouldnt you sign him. you don't ditch the captain of the past decade just like that.

Because, after getting injured a 1st time in the early 90's, he constantly failed to put up the numbers we expected he would? Because, not it seems that Kovalev is the new heart of the team? Because he doesn't score (I know Gomez doesn't score much more), Because Gainey is trying to save his job at all cost? Because we both know he isn't a first center? Because we all know that, with him as 1st or 2nd center, it will never, never really work? Do i need to continue?
shaftman
Your an idiot. Kovalev heart of the team? you mean the cry baby who cant play unless he has the C? and even then he only shows up half the time to play? wake up.

Kovalev heart of the team? you mean the cry baby who cant play unless he has the C?and even then he only shows up half the time to play? wake up. ? LOL, you are such a fool, it's just logic that he plays better without koivu. (I bet, Koivu would drop down also, if we snapped the C off him) Because Less healthy skilled players = More time for the healthy ones = More points from them Fact is, we will never win with Koivu as a 1st center, Plekanec seems a better fit as 2nd, as he can actually score 25 goals, a thing koivu won't do, Lapierre can handle the 3rd line, and Maxwell owns a chance in the Bigs. smozoma
Yeah, but Blake was like 34, Mike is like 27, Mike had 82 points, Blake 61... yep, of course he's better (which is why i said "rich man's"), but will he keep up his performance from last year, is the question. The Russian Rocket
Does he backcheck like them? Idk, i never get to really watch the Kings or the Flames... but the point is, he was the biggest Offensive guy available... and thats really better than jason Blake
halifax
If Gomez(5'11"), Gionta(5'7") and Cammalleri (5'9") get put on a line....it might be the smallest line in the NHL .

I think... either Kovalev or Tanguay will get a resign, and it could be like this Kovyy-Gomez-Gionta Kostitsyn(Andrei)-Plekanec-Cammalerie So it would balance out. I heard Montreal could be also interested in Nik AN-THRO-PAHV (Phonetic ftw) that would balance out even more... lol
shaftman
? LOL, you are such a fool, it's just logic that he plays better without koivu. This is a little late but.. Where were you when our top line was Tanguay Koivu Kovalev, what was it like...15 points in less then 5 games? Don't give me that kovalev didnt like koivu crap, they were the best line last season. Anyways doesnt matter now they are all gone...

The Russian Rocket
gomaise wont even make team usahes painfull to watch Well, he pretty much got shafted by Plekanec for the title of number 1 center. Damn Gainey to hell if he doesn't resign. Kostitsyn is waking up, sad to say, he's gonna be the difference maker between sucess and debacle.
