Blitz General Discussion

The state of '94 now is pretty ugly. The leagues are not organized, we have shady rule changes in the middle of leagues, biased drafts, deadline system that is clearly not working... Most of all there is no yearly schedule. With Blitz 08 shouldn't we just set up a yearly schedule and put it on the header of nhl94.com? It is amazing how we are still using this fake deadline system that doesn't replace anybody as our incentive for GP. When noobs find out about this website they will be eager to stay for the other leagues. With some real deadlines we won't need anymore extensions to the seasons because everyone knew they wouldn't be penalized for slacking. More Games playe…

Instead of me being able to access what I need to fix the Blitz files.. Raph thinks it's better that I EMAIL him what to do so he can EMAIL me the results and we will have to repeat this extremely slow process until we get it working. I know very well that this obviously will not work out fluidly, so I am not even going to bother since I have 1000000 ideas as to what the problem could be.

When are the signups for these leagues? When do they run?

Hey people, If anyone is interested in a little warm-up competition to take place over the next week say, sign up here. Games can start this weekend & we can make it a week or two long. Format: All sign-ups randomly drawn into a playoff bracket (A & B teams all drawn together. Could end up against anyone). Straight best of 5 playoffs. Winner advances to next round. All Blitz rules apply. If you want to try out lines with some semi-competitive games just add your name. If 8 sign up there are 3 rounds.

For those of you around during Blitz 07 you'll remember I had a go at writing some "AJ" style reviews for all 24 teams. Having got the bug again I thought i'd try to do the same this season. Kind of some subjective opinions to go alongside KingRaph's statistical rankings. I don't have the time I used to, so no idea how long it will take me to do all the teams. I've been messing around with NOSE to edit my team & a couple of other guys' for exhibs. My rom has my, Probob's, Icestorm's, Dcicon's & Hokkee's teams on it. Inspired by Robbie's team analysis thread, here are the Blitz 07 team rankings. I did this for the season 06 teams, the only thing I changed was normalizing forwards and defense separately. I've been thinking about a better way to come up with overall ratings that mix F/D/G, but haven't done so yet. there shouldnt be 10 picks a day when were this far in ,i have carse ,iceguy and jer 33 ,ill be waiting another day and you guys are going to wait till friday for me to pick, I love that u guys do these lgs but holy f**k the draft takes wayyy too long, i dont understand why this hasnt been changed you let everyone just pick whenever and now no one is around and it comes to a hault on the 3rd rd,grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr it just sickens me to see the same s**t year after year

Well we could assign a few guys to okay the trades but they have to be available so there isn't a 24 hr wait on a trade confirmation and just make it 3 max trades. DONE .

This draft will have the odd rounds (1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11) as protection rounds and the "A" league picking first in the regular picking rounds (2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12). New coaches usually get the last picks, and then the first picks with the snake results and these lead to my questions: 1. Since wookiee played with the team I was supposed to take over, does this make me a new coach or a veteran coach since I was technically already in? I'll also be in Blitz A. 2. If I qualify as a veteran coach, since hokkee will be back in Blitz I will most likely trade teams with him. Will/Should we trade draft spots?
