  4. 2018 NHL'94 Bud of the Year (your turn to vote)

    Normally every year I go through an intense process where I cast several votes by myself and decide a winner for the NHL'94 bud of the year. But last year, too many people got offended and for the year of not wanting to offend anyone, I've decided not to offend anyone except for those that will get offended.

    The bud of the year for me is a good ambassador for the community and has done something extra special for the community in the past 12 months or so.

    This year we will vote and I have three candidates up for the award.

    1. @angryjay93 - Won the King of 94 tournament in Vancouver and has done some incredible videos of breaking down teams for the Sega Genesis version

    2. Arda Ocal - announced multiple tournaments for the community, Got Raph in the Prudential Centre to play on the jumbotron and has another big announcement coming up soon!

    3. @chaos - works tirelessly at setting up several leagues throughout the year and has been spending lots of time getting RetroArch set up for every one.

    Voting closes January 1st!

    Congrats to @angryjay93 for defending his title.  Very well deserved, those were some awesome games we got to witness.  @corbettkb played his ass off and really gave AJ a run for his money!  

    Someone needs to give @smozoma a raise btw...it's so hard to participate in a tourney, manage the stream and manage the challonge brackets.  

    My one recommendation is to get some non-player help to simply manage computers/streams/brackets.  I am sure I can find 2-3 friends to help out for the next tourney.  I love the switch aspect going from Genesis feed to SNES feed.  With some additional help, this could really keep the stream super-exciting all the time.  Help with technical parts of stream, help Arda (or whoever is announcing) to keep going, etc.  One idea is to schedule various participants to fill in the broadcast for 30 minutes at a time to give updates on what is happening, announce games, add color, respond to twitch comments, etc.  Dead air is tough to keep viewers engaged.

    Next year we'll go to a two day event. Sega one day and SNES the next. I think this will help having smoz and I in the same area covering the same things instead of being split apart. And yes...more help is better. If you and @chaos were here....you would've helped us right? :)

  15. 2v2 rom for Vancouver - can someone make one?

    Apologies for the lateness on this.

    I've downloaded @Xstioph s2v2 rom. I was wondering if someone would be willing to quickly put together a SNES 2v2 rom I could use for vancouver with equal ratings(say all players at 80ish), like the one for Sega.

    And maybe include some cool pairings that guys in vancouver might like to use, by perhaps replacing some other teams with the jerseys (1980s yellow shirts, 2000s Orcas jersyss, todays unis.)

    naslund/bertuzzi (Orcas)

    boeser/horvat/petterson (todays colors)

    smyl/gradin (1980s)

    sedin/sedin (todays jerseys)

    Linden/Bure (no change needed)

    Or create one for Sega Genesis

    Again my apologies for the lateness..I thought of this a long time ago, and it didn't occur to me until know when i was messagin coach earlier today about 4 way adapters.

    It would be needed to be done by wednesday (or maybe thursday).

    If not, I'll make due, but just was throwing a hail mary for some help.

     

    My plan was to have an end of day tournament for 2v2 (small one). for one or both systems.
