  1. That's a good question jer. My connection has been pretty good I think, but not quite as good as the one I had before. I don't feel like I'm getting cheesed by internet or anything, I just really feel that my game is bad. I'm mostly getting messed up by people who have done a lot of improving in the last couple years, which has brought my confidence down against others. I depend on confidence too much. Thanks for all the responses guys
  2. Incoming baby post - 94 is becoming less and less fun for me. I play Seth fairly often at night, and I get rocked pretty consistently. Yeah I can win the odd game, but I feel so dominated in general. Another example is me losing to swos 4-1 in classic. I felt defeated before I even started playing. After game 1 I didn't even feel like I was playing 94 anymore. All I could think of was the repurcussions of my eventual loss, like it was fate for me to lose no matter what. Basically, all my 94 confidence is gone. I have always been a pretty confident player, and now that I'm not as good as I'd like to be it's causing me a lot of 94 pain. How do you guys handle losing? I'm not used to all this losing, I am so mad. As soon as I get blown out 1 game in exis or games in general, I'm as good as done mentally. I get super flustered and just feel like quitting. I need a freaking coach, I can't do this alone anymore for some reason. I'm going to look into simple meditation sometime soon to see if it can help. This crap is ruining me, I have barely played 94 in the last 2 weeks other than with stupidseth. Someone help me find a way to get my confidence back so this game can be fun again!!!!!!!
  3. 3. Yeah good point. It's pretty impossible to make the general public agree with this restriction, but you're definitely right. I wholeheartedly agree with what you said about point 3 in your post above. But But But If you're a noob, you need a good goalie to make up for your lack of manual ;)
  4. 1. People use their backup goalies. When the gas start flowing a lot of people switch in their backup, a lot. I never do this myself either, but that doesn't matter. Even though it never really makes a difference, it's sort of a psychological thing. All in all, an unnecessary restriction. (It'd save a round though, it's nice to make things faster). 2. I like this idea. It always gets discussed but never implemented. 3. Another unnecessary restriction. Way too many people will be against this. You can't force people to make teams the way you do lol. That being said, goalies are definitely overvalued. This was especially apparent in an exi I had with raph recently where he scored 8 goals on Roy. I know my manual goalie sucks, but some of them were like long distance onetimers. On the best goalie in the game :/ lol. I just wish there was a way to get everyone on board that the difference between bad goalies and good ones isn't a huge deal. Although now I'm thinking about games against habs where he was LA and hrudey let in the cheesiest of cheese goals over and over again. This all being said, I wouldn't want to be stuck with Jeff Reese all season in any league 4. If someone can make this a reality, then sure it'd be a nice addition. ADP sorta works, but it's far from perfect. - Personal Thoughts - A lot of people love trading. I personally don't love it, but have partaken in it in the past and I enjoyed it then. The thing is, trading is really cheesy imo. The same people always make super teams, and the less experienced coaches always get ripped off. Playing exis with the current gdl rom made me think about this. Some teams are soo bad lol, and others of course are pretty stacked. Obviously I would never expect people to want to eliminate trading, this is just some meaningless personal thoughts. Feel free to cut me down and call me crazy, it's all good.
  5. Good guy houly finally shows up after holding up the playoffs for 2 weeks. Mr. innocent as always
  6. Because kega has input delay even when played offline. I haven't tested it in like 2 years, but when I tried kega it was very noticeable
  7. Hmm yeah I kinda missed the part where he said he purposely went mia Not sure what's right and what's wrong
  8. Yo hokkee I'm really sorry I couldn't make it in time. You were having a really good season, it's unfair that you got screwed like that. Raph extend it for hokkee since nobody has played a playoff game yet anyway Me and kg (and aj but that might not be fair) could play him tomorrow Hokkee had 6 games that were impossible for him to play, 2 against me, and 4 against kgman (who didn't replace la robbie until after I came back, well after hokkee was gone). So even if Hokkee lost all 6, that'd be 12 less dnp points he'd lose. That'd put him 2 points out of a playoff spot. Chances are very high that he'd win at least 1 game out of those 6, and that's all he'd need. This isn't including the 2 AJ games btw. This is a very odd situation, but I feel too bad for hokkee here to not try to suggest a fix. He worked his hardest to get his games done before having to work his nuts off logging. We gotta show some sympathy for everybody's favourite vet. Especially since it was probably hokkee's best season ever.
  9. Seth said that penalties off nerfing B check is a myth. Even after I told him to test again he said it felt exactly the same to him. You 100% sure about this plabax?
  10. Every single hdtv I've ever played on has noticeable input delay when playing non hd games on it. Genesis, NES, SNES, N64, PS2, whatever. Even monitors specifically made for gaming have delay cuz they aren't made for sd stuff. CRT master race is real for all old games lol. Although, we are all used to a little bit of delay from online play. Hopefully it feels like 3 or 4 frame delay, and not the nasty 8 haha.
  11. I like this idea habs, just hard to understand how it works. Top 8 of each, so some people get 1 gdl team and 1 classic team? Make a pretend bracket or something cuz I don't get it lol
  12. I DO PROMISE!!! Friday afternoon get at me. Please
  13. I feel like I have a similar style, but not quite sure
  14. Which kinda pass shot? The straight on forehand/backhand ones (from both far, and close)? Or the one from a diagonal?
  15. You press C, then quickly press B. The C press causes the player you're controlling to shoot forward, and the B press causes you to switch off control of this player, to another one of your players. So since you are not controlling the player who's throwing the check anymore, the game thinks that it's one of your computer controlled players who threw the check. Pretty simple so far. The part that makes it useful is, when your computer teammates (or your opponent's cpu teammates) throw a check, the weight bug doesn't apply. So essentially, you can send one of your own players forward by pressing C then B quickly, and if the player connects with an opposing player, then it's a weight fixed check. Fatties are useful defensively now! Your light vs their heavy? C check. Your heavy vs their light? CB. Same weights? B check (well you should do this all the time anyway hehe). C then quickly B. Simple stuff.
  16. I absolutely love this quote. Ice summed up the proper goal scoring mentality perfectly, all the way back in 2011. This is seriously sig worthy
  17. Hahaha yeah I definitely agree with that. Just base accuracy off of goals honestly. You're right, shooting % doesn't = shot accuracy, that's total bogus.
  18. I think Gretzky is an example of a perfectly rated player, while still having flaws just like everyone else. You don't need pass shots to score with him, you just need to get real close. Thing is, that's very easy to do given his 6 agility, he is so so fun to deke with. Crease cuts / slap dekes work well with him too, combined with normal deke goals and he can score as good as most. His 6 stickhandling and 6 passing + bad shot make him super fun and unique, and also allow him to be very true to his real life self. Brutus has a good point about making shot power and speed realistic, while tinkering with the rest to make the superstars super. I think personally I'd rather just try to make everything as realistic as possible though. Problem is, that's really tough. These are my thoughts : Weight - Easy - Probably not hard to find their approximate playing weight, then it's easy to convert to 94 number system Agility - Very Hard - Pretty much gotta go by reputation for this I'd think. Were they known to be shifty or good dekers / skaters? Tough Speed - Hard - Slightly easier than agility, but similar process. Definitely reputation. Shot Power - Medium - Reputation + stats + bias. You need to kinda fudge this to make scoring work well. If they have a reputation for having a good shot then give them one. Otherwise, basically gotta go off stats. Shot Accuracy - Medium - Stats mostly. If they scored a lot of goals for their era, then they probably had an accurate shot. Stickhandling - Hard - All you can go off of is reputation here. If they were known to deke or skate with the puck well, give em good stickhandling Passing - Hard - Reputation + stats. If they're known for their passing then bless them with a good attribute. If not, base it on their assist stats. I'm not a big believer in any of the other attributes, other than I guess checking if you're using smoz's weight fix + checking system. Then I guess for that all you really have is reputation, if they were known to be physical or not.
