there's been talk about a 2on2 league for some time and i guess ive been chosen to get the ball rolling. First off this is not a "open" league, this will only be open for actives who have already shown their commitment to the 2on2 recently. Rules - There will be 4 teams (8 players) - each team will play every other team 6 times. making it a 18 game season for each team. - at the seasons end the # 1 seed will have a buy into the finals and the #2 and #3 seed play a best of seven - finals will be a best of seven - Teams will be chosen at random, this will make the teams fair giving everyone a chance. - standings will be decided on a point system. 2pt win, 1pt OT loss, 0pt loss. 1 pt to each team if ended in tie. the following players will be allowed to participate, if you are unable to play/don't want to please post saying so, otherwise make sure you sign up in this post. "A" -SOH (confirmed) -Habs (confirmed) -Zalex (confirmed) -Freydey (confirmed) -BO (confirmed) -donnybrook (confirmed) -Polite (confirmed) -Carse (confirmed) "B" - Houlanov - Louie14 - gihtarman - Ugo Bo$$ - sarcdoc23 - - - these players will have first choice, if someone decides they dont want to participate we will seek a replacement. teams will not be chosen untill all players are confirmed. sorry to everyone who cant play that really wants too, we are keeping this very small and short because 2on2 leagues have a tendency to fail due to inactive mofo's and if we use current 2on2 exhibition players we have much less of a chance of this failing. post if you want to be on the waiting list and we'll contact you if we need replacement. after we get teams set, the season will begin. all games will be released and there will be a post for standings and a place to post final scores. * most rules are subject to change, but number of players and format are not. ive only been playing this game since i was like 10, so i guess i havent really truly played 94?!? wtf. yea this game is semi-realistic in cretin aspects, and as far as the other hockey games of its time, its by far the most realistic. but lets be serious.. some of the things that happen in this game completely defy physics. like when you check someone in the boards and they magically skid halfway across the ice? ya that happens all the time. all i was trying to say was that video games can never imitate real life, so why try and make it?

welcome to the community Troy. the way i look at it is, nhl94 isnt very realistic so why play by nhl rules. i treat nhl94 like its a different form of hockey (street hockey, air hockey, table hockey.. ect) and the funnest way to play is with line changes off (keeps best skaters on ice and they dont tire) and offsides off (keeps the game going, too many stoppages with offsides on). keep penalties on because man advantages are always interesting. im not opposed to playing with line changes or offsides, i think they can be fun sometimes but why would you wanna slow it down, hockey is always best at high speeds. just had to make my point, welcome man we all use AOL instant messenger to stay in contact. feel free to message me anytime asking for a game or whatever. also you should get into 2on2, 4 people play, 2 skaters a team. its alot of fun.

yea i do like the time schedule idea, i know id commit but not sure we could get 4 people to be on time every time. one idea i was kicking around was have a preseason were we keep score for like a 2 week period and the top whatever number of people with games played would get to be in the league.

ok we really need to get this going in some form. im willing to help out anyway i can, i was thinking of making a simple geocities type site where we can post standings and recent scores ect. the only thing i worry about is people playing their games so we'd have to make the list of participants alot shorter. thinking of just have a single league with just 6 teams (or less?) and a short regular season just determine playoff seeding. im in no position to take over this idea considereing it was habs' idea in the first place, all im saying is im willing to do whatever i can to get this going. so post any revolutionary ideas you may have and lets see if we can actually get a successful 2on2 league going.
