  1. Slow day at work, here. Thought I'd rank the Cancuks away jersey vs the rest that year: Hartford Chicago Los Angeles Winnipeg Montreal Quebec Detroit Edmonton Boston Calgary New York R. Vancouver San Jose Tampa bay Pittsburgh Buffalo Philadelphia St. Louis New Jersey Anaheim Toronto Florida Ottawa New York I. Washington Dallas East / West All-Stars
  2. Opps, wrong link: https://russianmachineneverbreaks.com/2019/06/14/the-vancouver-canucks-are-bringing-back-their-black-skate-jerseys-for-their-50th-anniversary/ The Maple Leafs are also having a 53rd commemoration jersey from their last cup in 1967! What logo they're going to use isn't confirmed yet, and they still have some kinks to work out. Looks great so far.
  3. They're back for the 50th anniversary!
  4. This is the making of Micro Mages. Thought this was really interesting for those into old hardware:
  5. I don't have any tips for capturing video games, but I do know if a, "baby on board," sticker is a little faded and beat up on the car in front of you that the kid is at least a year or two old now and the car is safe to ram.
  6. I actually played 2000 in the attic of my parents old house with no heat in the dead of winter when it came out; long but uninteresting story. Hard to believe it was 20 years ago. Played a bunch of games with @HABS and @donnybrook years ago. Really easy to setup and play and if anyone wants to have a mini-tourney I'd be down for sure.
  7. @chaos If they don't want them, Jesus' Salvage, BBQ Towing and Notary Service can oblige. @kingraph Apparently a good way to find one is just to email every local broadcast studio, university and news station in a 30 mile radius and ask them if they have any tube monitors that they no longer need. A lot of people who are persistent have gotten huge hauls. For most of these places, you're solving a problem. I plan to do this next week myself as I'm smitten with these PVM's.
  8. Leave your NHL'94 cart under your pillow and the CRT fairy may visit you. guy with tv on head leaves old tvs on front porches of homes
  9. Thanks for keeping the flame burning . You guys make me want to get back at it again.
  10. This video appeared in my Youtube recommended. Good review for the Retro-Bit controllers for anyone still on the fence.
  11. Great save. Now I need to find my fantasy team ROM with Wu-Tang Clan, Tech Support, Cosa Nostra, San Quinten Fugitives, Middle Earth Orcs and Vatican Holy Rollers, among other teams.
  12. What I remember from 5 years ago, yes. If you're close enough to the goalie, and fake a shot, the goalie will make a save attempt. When behind the net, the goalie makes a backward save attempt will face you, I think. We used the (Y) / goalie control button to test it since we already had that figured out, but we never finished it. This was supposed to be the new wrinkle for the NHL15 ROM. I thought it would be cooler than a line changes button since most people don't play with them on, so I wanted to add this first. Just taking shots, for hours, with a tracer until I found it, I think. I don't know where the ROM is. I lost a lot of stuff when I got rid of an external HD and sold my work station to a business owner in New Jersey. I thought I had all that stuff backed up but I didn't. @chaos bailed me out a week or two ago when I asked him if he still had the Pixelpuck and NHL91.com files on the sites' shared hosting package, here; all my ROMs were supposed to be in that .zip. Fortunately he did have it, which was a big relief. I still don't know where the goalie control patch is or where a lot of other files that I worked on are. But if I can find the ROM, I'll post it.
  13. @JesterKing hope you stick around, bud. We always need new players, so spread the word if you think you know someone who'd like to play online or in a live tournament
  14. I picked up a 20' Sony, PVM (Professional Video Monitor) CRT and some RGB Retrovision cables, recently. I did a comparison and wanted to share the results. Best picture I've ever gotten, easily. Better than any emulator I've played on as well. The comparison LCD is a Dell AIO. Everyone is familiar with these. RCA or RF really doesn't do justice to how great the SNES and Genesis can look. Thankfully, both consoles output RGB natively without any mods. Up until recently you had to use a scaler, like an Framemeister or X-RGB Mini, which are really expensive or get SCART cables to pull this off. I did a post on pixelpuck a few years ago before I took the site down about SCART & RGB on a Genesis. It was a big PITA and I couldn't get near this level of quality. These Retrovision, RGB cables are pretty amazing, especially when combined with the RollsRoyce of gaming motors. SNES Comparison Genesis Comparison If you like to play on old hardware, I would definitely recommend getting a Sony PVM CRT and pair of Retrovision for your SNES or Genesis. The results speak for themselves. There's going to be lot of CRT's at Waves but I will probably be lugging this guy to Toronto for KO94-4. Hopefully it can be put to good use.

NE PA, moving back to Philly, soon. What hobbies or other interests do you have? Doing nothing is my first love. I also have a million other interests, like most people. When did you get introduced to the game NHL'94? How did it happen? I had a hard scrabble up bringing. We were very hard up. We didn't have a pot to piss in. In fact, I remember as a young child, my mother waking me up in the dead of the night and forcing me to break into other peoples homes just so we could piss in their pots. The prospect of my family affording a video game was out of the question, I had to look for what little work was available. Eventually I settled on becoming a paper boy. I remember toiling away, my tiny hands black with newspaper print looking like a breaker boy from the mines. I would roll newpapers into plastic sleeves for hours on end while praying for child protective services to rescue me.It was grueling work for a kid with just a Mongoose BMX bike to his name. To compound my drudgery, my paper route was littered with psychotic break dancers, tornadoes, random used tires, and once I was even visited by the grim specter of death during my paper route. I somehow survived and eventually had enough coinage to purchase my own copy of NHL'94. Having spent the previous year absorbing radiation from the CRT TV in the living room playing NHLPA'93 with my cohorts, I knew that NHL'94 was my ticket to a better life; out of the slums and into the sweet life of the upper-middle class and interminable debt. When did you get introduced to nhl94.com and the online community? Were you playing between these two dates? (That is, between first becoming aware of game, and first becoming aware of nhl94.com.) In the bowels of a sports forum called the Nose Bleed section, there was a sub forum for all the knaves and rejects. I used to talk about NHL'94 with @don16086 and @mack. Don told me that there was this new NHL'94 site being worked on. I knew my prayers had been answered. I realized that not only could i waste my youth playing NHL'94, but my adulthood as well. What are a couple things that you love about the game? 2on2. Are you a gamer in general? What other games do you play? I had a museum worth of games at one time. Arcade cabinets and PC's and consoles, but one can only handle so much involuntary celibacy. I don't really play anything anymore. But I still consider myself a gamer since I've spent like 10,000 hours of my life playing video games. Do you follow hockey in real life? Any other sports? Most of the time when I watch other sports I think about how great the game would be if the two teams I'm watching were actually playing hockey. Hockey is the only sport I really care about. Baseball and Football and stuff is just to distract me from the fact that there is no hockey to watch right now. If you have been to a live tourney, what was it like meeting the real people behind the screen names? Any big surprises? I went to the NHLPA'93 Kumite as Tanaka Clan. I forgot the password to get in but by a stroke of luck, I guessed, "OKAY USA," and I got in. NHL'94-4 in Toronto will be my first NHL'94 tournament. I will be wearing glasses this time so that no one can throw dust in my eyes. What is behind your screen name? (Origin story, if there is one.) Well, I won it, kind of. Back when I used to ride the rails, I was in a fight with a 130lb hobo over a bag of Wise potato chips who was wielding a railroad spike. I beat him with a grandfather clock. All of this while I was in the midst of creating my account. I typed my user name and password in cold blood for the first time. That's how I got my name, similar to how Iceberg Slim go this name; we have a lot in common. The rest is history. Favorite NHL94 player in game (and why)? Shot power is, in video game parlance, the 'spread gun' of attributes to me, so I like players such as Al Iafrate. I get really loud and yell with a s**t eating grin, "WHAT ARE YOU IAFRATE OF?" and then I unleash a skullet missile from the high slot and yell, "IAFRATE BIG BLAST." All. Damn. Day. True story.
  16. The fake shot is something Kaneda and I figured out. I just stopped working on ROM updates after NHL15, or whatever one has Brodeur on the cover. Basically, we found the, 'whiff shot'. The one where you try to shoot and the animation for shooting the puck is shown, but nothing happens and the 'whiff' sound effect it played. We planned on mapping this to the Z button - Y was already set to goalie control and X was going to be used for line changes - IIRC the goalie bites every time, making it really easy to score. Would have liked to see how players would have used this, especially on breakaways against manually controlled goalies.
