  1. you'll be happy to note that I'm a little too far away, at over five hours (from Maine).
  2. I'm very excited for this to come in the mail.
  3. damn. there are really that many players "in the game," huh? no wonder it's such a task giving everybody a full set of ratings....pass bias, shot power, shot accuracy, reputation, speed....
  4. they should reconsider it. if you still have that twit exchange open or accessible, please hit them with a followup. --- PLEASE allow hiding email addresses Support Request #997270 that guy 2 hr ago that's all. Dan 25 min ago Hey there, Thanks for getting in touch! You're not alone with this request. Though Slack was originally created with business type teams in mind, many communities now use Slack & I can fully appreciate that not everyone wishes to share their email address in all circumstances. I'll be sure to add your vote to the others asking for this feature for consideration in future updates! Thanks, Dan --- you may wish to change the thread title here, as this doesn't really clue people in to the goal of replacing the AOL software.
  5. oh, wow... you are getting good responses. maybe AOL is finally crappy enough. maybe you can turn the tide. good luck!
  6. they won't change to a thing with constantly expiring links. they wouldn't even use the IRC room I made them. they love their America Online and will stick with it -- and get others to join it -- until somebody pulls the plug on that comatose dinosaur.
  7. cool. do you have a group of friends that already get together to play on a schedule? what do you envision for expansion?
  8. the shorter version is easier, but cheesier.
  9. the league should cap it at 32 teams, for sure. the next expansion could be done in a burst to 48, but only when a plan to make that work is set out to accomplish it in less than a decade's time. I'm with Smoz on talent levels, but, after 32, it'll be tough to make a logical number of expansion teams work out -- I think they'd have to do it four at a time from there.
  10. why do you have to be so... ...cagey, man?
  11. http://forum.nhl94.com/index.php/topic/16845-ninety-flow-2015-playoffs-rom/page-2#entry148336 or use player five.
  12. there is a bounty on my game: I will mail a reward to anybody who finds and reports errors in weights, jersey numbers, handedness, spelling.
  13. well, in SNES, there is a button that runs the instant replay without the overlay.
  14. then it must be Patrick, the stay-at-home defender. (Leetch was an offensively-minded defenseman.)
  15. well, then let me be the first to type that I think that: NHL '94 is somewhat nifty
  16. how did you embed the music? I tried quoting your post and looking for it, but I don't see anything giving it away.
  17. yeah, what those guys typed. I made mine in instant replay, taking small screenshots and piecing them together very carefully in GIMP/Photoshop. you'll want to save the file as a .png to keep it lossless (HD). good luck!
  18. hey... did anybody mention NHL '94, yet? that game is pretty good.
  19. I always thought (SNES) that the range was +/-5 from the base rating. I really wish the (SNES) editor had an overall player rating calculation display built in, as one of the most tedious aspects of running my numbers is in-game checking of the overall rating. once, example guy is 61. next he's 63. third time he's 58. I'm trying to get him to a 68, so I know he's low... but how low? make an adjustment and try again. now he's 68, 68 and 70, so it might be fine, but he might be a 73 and just showing lower each try. I do well enough and move on. a tool showing the actual value would be invaluable for me.
  20. in my recent hacks, I have "Jack Edwards" saying that "ratings are based on the last few games," or something like that. he also doesn't mention hot/cold anymore -- he rambles about players practicing, an injury, a player being sick, who will be late decisions....
  21. oh, man... I love that. animations like that are excellent tools to help people understand these types of things. thanks for making that!
  22. I voted it up and everything else in the top fifty down, but I'm not sure I get the way it all works. was that the general idea?
  23. your style is weird, but that was almost funny. are you saying the guy legit disappeared and has not ever logged back in? if so, that's creepy. maybe eerie is the better term. butter-clogged arteries? butter-greased slippage on a tile floor? choked on a kernel?
  24. that actually SHOULD be possible. it wouldn't be easy, but it should be possible. I understand the limitations of what is doable and what isn't fairly well, so I feel pretty confident saying it isn't going to happen unless you beg and/or pay the right hacker -- not likely to be found here -- to tackle that. it's a neat idea that I, personally, would never choose. don't hold your breath on getting it done, but there is no reason I can come up with that would put it out of the realm of possibilities. really, just about anything is possible if you write your own code, but this shouldn't need much, if any, to accomplish... maybe a line or two, unless you want it to display as a selectable option to turn on and off, and then you are looking at just a little bit more. now, as far as tips on finding somebody to do this: I surely have none.
