Getting Started

Yo guys, I love the setup for the NHL 94 Draft league and I was wondering if anyone knew how to be able to set one of them up. Hi guys, Just came across this site and boards. I used to love playing NHL 95 on sega way back when. It was a blast. Anyway, I've never used emulators, roms, and all that good stuff before. All I would like is to get either NHL 95 or NHL 94 onto my computer here so I can have some and get some games in. Would anyone be willing to run down step by step what I need and how I need to go about doing that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Well I just got my new controller (Saitek Rumble Pad) and for some odd reason the D-PAD wont respond, only the analog control and buttons. Controller works great for all other emulators (KEGA) yet wont work for GENS. I wish everyone here would just dump GENS altogether, it's really an outdated emulator and far inferior to KEGA for online play. I guess people are just used to it and dont want to bother to change, but its really too bad. Anyway, I dont know what to do about this. Not sure why GENS wont accept the dpad other than the obvious reason (which is, it's a piece of s**t).

Is there any gens versions with video recording? I'am tired of not being able to record all the sweet highlites when I play 94

What is the preferred video software among the members here who have made highlight compilation videos? I've tried a few freeware ones, and none have worked. All have had an error when combining my WMV files. So what video software do you guys use, that does not create a watermark?

Anyone here have the Linksys WRT54G router and is able to connect to zbattle? I've tried all the settings on all the sites that talk about port forwarding and editing the .ini file but I've gotten zbattle to connect exactly once since I installed this new router earlier this week (it then failed to connect when I disconnected and reconnected without changing any more settings).

I've been addicted to this game (GENESIS version) since it first came out, and I'd love to play in one of the online leagues from this website. Trouble is, I'm running with a Mac. Is there any way I can still play online?

I hope this is the right area for this thread. I've Just started playing this game again major thanks to this site. I really like the recording option that you get with the gens. But I can only view the gir. files with the gens, are these gir. files convertible. I know hardling anything about computers but i'd really like to view these files without having to have to use the gens. Anyways thanks in advance for any suggestion and for plain having this site for people to enjoy a magnificent game.

Hey guys, been a member for a little bit and visit the website kinda frequently trying to understand how you guys know all this stuff! It's beyond me, this computer stuff. But I think I figured out how to play on-line but can't find anyone to play against. Is there anyone out there that would like to play a quick game so I know exactly what to do? From what I gathered, I go to netplay, pick a server (this is where I get lost- any server? what's a server?) anyway i picked one and created a game nhl 94 and I guess wait??? Nobody joins in. Ok i recently decided to download gens and nhl 94 (for the updates) and I can't figure out for the life of me how to get it to work.... A little help please

I played the NHL94 spring 2006 SNES game on zbattle. Goodtimes. When I pushed the Esc button and had options I picked the MISC button where it had a movie option. I recorded a few games and I see the ZM Files but all my video players don't recognize the file including my DivX player. Anybody able to view their ZM Files? After all 9 spots of video are used up then what? Save them to your computer and then delete them? Does anybody know how much video each spot can hold? Or is there any otherway of recording SNES games?

is it possible for mac users to join in the league fun? i have a different emulator and rom but i was hoping that it would be compatible... if not, is there a emulator/rom/both that would be compatible with a mac and would work for league play? thanks a lot, //andrew

i just got this online thing working and i can never find anybody playing this game, and i can't make a room cause it says i have illegal characters in rom name, wtf does this mean?? i need help

Hello guys, great site and everything. I'm stucked with a little problem here, currently playing a playoff/7 series netplay with a friend of mine. We're playing as "Two - Teammates", working perfect, although...after game one, coming back to the menu before game two...the "Two - Teammates" setting has automatically been changed to "Two - Head to Head", and we're not able to do anything about it..it's a frozen area we can't touch...sadly enough! Is this problem familiar to anyone else in here, is there anyway to solve it? Thanks for helping out.

i need a program that i can save my replays in the kega emulator with the nhl 07 updated rom im using. that of course also saves it in avi files so it can be viewed like a video. is there a such program out there capable of doing that.

me and him are using the same rom aka the last one that thegr8199kings aim handle of course sent me with the kega fusion emulator and each time when i put on the playoff matchups on the main screen if i have it as detroit vs calgary on his screen it shows edmonton vs chicago and never works. Any solutions to that. Cause it works on the gens emulator only that one only lets you play one game from the round and then goes to a different team matchup.

I downloaded all 7 parts to the game and extracted them to create the nhl94.iso file. I burned it onto a cd and downloaded the file on this site that allows sega cd games to be played on gens. When I play the cd, it tells me to press start. When i do the Sega logo comes up and then the screen goes blank. What is the problem?

Is DSL fast enough for online play, or do you need cable internet? Is there a certain Kbps you need to play online without lag?

so the sega cd version works with gens. what if i had the actual game copy in my cdrom...could i play it through gens that way as well?

I am able to play the updated '94 rom (by Swos) with a friend online, but every time we try to play a '97 rom the game freezes. Why is this?
